US-based AI cloud infrastructure provider CoreWeave announced its entry into India with plans to deploy 240 MW of data centre capacity in Navi Mumbai. The project will be in partnership with AdaniConneX and will consist of three 80 MW buildings at the Taloja facility. The first phase is expected to be operational by mid-2028, with CoreWeave as the sole tenant across the buildings, according to inc42.com.
The planned campus at AdaniConneX’s Taloja site will feature high-density AI infrastructure designed for GPU workloads. CoreWeave will deploy NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform through its AI cloud platform to support AI training, inference, reasoning, and agentic workloads. The company also plans to establish an office in India and hire local talent to engage with customers and partners in the country’s AI ecosystem, said CoreWeave COO Sachin Jain, per inc42.com.
This move underscores growing investment in India’s AI and data centre infrastructure, a sector seeing rising demand amid the AI boom. AdaniConneX is a joint venture between Adani Enterprises and US data centre operator EdgeConneX. CoreWeave’s deployment of NVIDIA technology and large-scale capacity positions it alongside other global players expanding AI cloud services in India, a market increasingly critical for AI development and adoption, inc42.com reported.
CoreWeave has the option to add another 240 MW at the Taloja campus, potentially doubling the capacity to 480 MW. The first phase’s mid-2028 operational target sets a timeline for the company’s initial footprint in India’s AI infrastructure landscape, according to inc42.com.
