Grievance Officer
Under Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, Startupniti publishes the name, contact details, and mechanism through which a user or victim may raise complaints regarding content published on this platform.
How to file a complaint
Write to the grievance officer at the address above. Please include:
- The URL of the article or page concerned.
- A clear description of the issue (factual error, content you believe is unlawful, request for removal, copyright complaint, etc.).
- Your name and contact details so we can respond. Anonymous complaints will still be reviewed but cannot be acknowledged.
- Supporting evidence where relevant (links, screenshots, documents).
Response timeline
As required by the IT Rules, 2021:
- Acknowledgement: within 24 hours of receipt.
- Resolution: within 15 days, except in cases of content related to non-consensual intimate imagery (resolved within 24 hours per Rule 3(2)(b)).
Escalation — Grievance Appellate Committee
If you are not satisfied with the decision of the grievance officer, or if no response is received within the stipulated timeline, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee constituted by the Government of India under Rule 3A of the IT Rules, 2021. Appeals can be filed at gac.gov.in.
Editorial corrections
For factual errors in published articles (rather than complaints of unlawful content), please use the corrections desk — that path is faster for the kind of mistake editors fix routinely.
