Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has signed letters of intent with over 50 dealers to establish more than 50 e-motorcycle showrooms across 34 cities in 15 Indian states and union territories. The agreements, announced this week, will expand VinFast's presence in key markets including Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, according to inc42.com.
The letters of intent were signed at VinFast’s manufacturing facility in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The company identified these cities for their large two-wheeler markets, which present significant opportunities for electrification. VinFast aims to leverage these dealer locations to bring electric mobility solutions closer to consumers. The company also plans to build charging infrastructure and enhance after-sales services in these regions to support its expansion.
VinFast’s move comes amid growing competition in India’s electric two-wheeler (E2W) market, which is attracting both domestic and international players. Establishing a widespread dealer network and charging infrastructure is critical to gaining market share in a sector where consumer adoption depends heavily on accessibility and support. This expansion aligns with broader trends of electrification in India’s two-wheeler segment, where companies like Ola Electric and Hero Electric have also scaled operations.
VinFast’s agreements cover 34 cities across 15 states and union territories, marking a significant step in its India strategy. The company’s focus on after-sales service and charging infrastructure aims to address key consumer concerns. These developments were confirmed in a statement released alongside the signing event at the company’s Vietnam facility.
