Pune-based deeptech company Aeron Systems has raised ₹45 crore (about $4.7 million) in a pre-Series B funding round led by Riverwalk Holdings and MGF-Kavachh (MountTech Growth Fund). The fresh capital will be used to expand manufacturing capacity for advanced inertial navigation systems, accelerate research and development, meet rising customer demand, and strengthen the company’s international presence, according to inc42.com.
Founded in 2008 by Ashvani Shukla and Abhijeet Bokil, Aeron Systems designs and manufactures inertial navigation and industrial IoT-based weather-monitoring systems for aerospace, defence, renewable energy, and other industrial sectors. Its navigation systems enable aircraft, drones, missiles, military vehicles, and ships to determine position and movement even when satellite navigation signals are unavailable or disrupted. The company’s product range includes inertial navigation systems, air data computers, weather sensors, flight-test instrumentation, avionics, and resilient positioning, navigation, and timing technologies.
Aeron’s technologies are deployed across various platforms such as aircraft, helicopters, unmanned vehicles, missiles, armoured vehicles, and naval vessels. Its customers include Hindustan Aeronautics, Bharat Electronics, DRDO, the Indian Army, and the Indian Navy. The company’s focus on resilient navigation and environmental sensing addresses critical needs in defence and renewable energy sectors, where reliable data is essential for operational success and safety.
The ₹45 crore funding round will enable Aeron Systems to scale up manufacturing and R&D efforts to meet growing demand domestically and internationally.
