Cradlewise, a San Francisco-based direct-to-consumer smart crib brand, has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round led by 3one4 Capital and Prudent Investment Management, the company announced. Founded in 2019 by Radhika and Bharath Patil, Cradlewise plans to use the capital to grow its product portfolio, expand distribution channels, and enter new international markets, according to inc42.com.
The startup currently sells its AI-enabled smart cribs through its website and ecommerce marketplaces. Its product uses sensors and an integrated monitor to detect when a baby begins stirring and automatically bounces the crib to soothe the baby back to sleep. The crib connects to an app that lets parents monitor their baby remotely, track sleep patterns, and access sleep insights. Cradlewise intends to broaden its reach by adding offline retail stores, partnerships, and other channels to reach parents across multiple touchpoints, the report said.
Cradlewise’s technology is supported by patents covering its hardware and sensing systems. Its connected products have generated over 75 million hours of sleep data, which the company uses to enhance sleep detection, predict baby movements, and personalize the experience. The startup’s products currently serve children up to 24 months old. The funding round and product innovation position Cradlewise alongside other infant tech companies leveraging AI to improve childcare.
The company disclosed that the new funds will accelerate research and development and support channel expansion efforts. Cradlewise’s next milestone includes launching new products and entering additional international markets, backed by the $12 million raised in this round, inc42.com reported.
