D2C pet food startup Lickicious has raised ₹19 crore (about $2.1 million) in a funding round led by Prath Ventures, the company confirmed.

D2C pet food startup Lickicious has raised ₹19 crore (about $2.1 million) in a funding round led by Prath Ventures, the company confirmed. The round included participation from ISV Capital, the founders of consumer appliances startup Atomberg, and several senior executives. Founded in 2024 by Shashwat Sahai and Chandan Jha, Lickicious offers a range of products for dogs and cats including dry and wet food, treats, fresh food, supplements, and nutritional toppers.

Lickicious did not disclose the split between equity and institutional debt or its current valuation and revenue. The startup plans to deploy the fresh capital to build a 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution facility to increase production capacity, improve supply reliability, and enhance product quality control. Investments will also be made in research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, branding, and commercial functions. The company aims to expand its product portfolio and strengthen its presence across online and offline channels including its website, Amazon, Flipkart, and the pet care platform Supertails.

The funding round comes amid rising demand for packaged, premium, and specialized pet food in India, driven by increasing pet ownership and higher spending on pet nutrition and healthcare. Lickicious has set a target to scale its annual revenue to ₹100 crore, reflecting the growing market opportunity in the Indian pet care sector. The startup’s approach to combining product innovation with expanded manufacturing capacity aligns with broader trends in the pet food industry.

Lickicious’ next steps include expanding into new pet segments and enhancing its supply chain infrastructure. The company’s fundraising round was announced in early September 2026, marking a key milestone in its growth trajectory within India’s evolving pet food market.
