EaseMyTrip posts ₹11.7 crore loss in Q1 despite 18% revenue rise

EaseMyTrip reported a consolidated net loss of ₹11.7 crore in the June quarter of FY27, reversing from a net profit of ₹44 lakh in the same period last year, according to inc42.com.

EaseMyTrip reported a consolidated net loss of ₹11.7 crore in the June quarter of FY27, reversing from a net profit of ₹44 lakh in the same period last year, according to inc42.com. The online travel aggregator's operating revenue rose 18.4% year-on-year to ₹134.7 crore, but total expenses surged 29.8% to ₹152.7 crore, leading to the loss.

The company narrowed its quarterly loss by 24.2% from ₹15.4 crore in the March quarter, despite a sequential revenue decline of 11.3% from ₹151.9 crore. Service costs more than doubled to ₹39.2 crore from ₹18 crore, while employee benefits increased 4.2% to ₹32.8 crore. Advertising and sales promotion expenses grew 10.7% to ₹18.5 crore, and payment gateway charges rose 19.4% to ₹16.4 crore.

EaseMyTrip's revenue growth was primarily driven by its hotel packages segment, which more than doubled year-on-year to ₹67.6 crore. However, rising costs across multiple expense categories pressured profitability. The company’s total income, including other income of ₹6.6 crore, increased 18% to ₹141.3 crore, but the sharp expense rise outweighed this growth, reflecting challenges in managing operational costs amid expansion.

The company’s next quarterly results will reveal whether the cost controls implemented can restore profitability after this loss. Meanwhile, the hotel packages segment remains a key revenue driver, contributing nearly half of the operating revenue in Q1 FY27, according to inc42.com.
