Indian space-tech startup Pixxel has secured $100 million in its Series C funding round, co-led by Singapore’s Temasek and UK-based Seraphim, the company announced on Monday. The round also saw participation from 360 ONE Asset and Seoul’s IMM Investment. This funding marks the largest ever raised by a space technology company in India, bringing Pixxel’s total capital raised to $195 million, according to inc42.com and livemint.com.
The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the fresh capital to enhance its satellite sensing capabilities and expand its Earth intelligence platform, Aurora. Pixxel aims to develop its sovereign space systems and increase production capacity at its Gigapixxel manufacturing facility, inaugurated in 2024. The facility can handle more than 20 satellites simultaneously and manufacture up to 40 satellites annually.
